Polka dots and petit fours

My mother asked me to make some petit fours for her Sunday School party. They were a lot of work but turn out rather festive.

Two of my good girlfriends celebrated their birthdays within days of each other. We had our annual Christmas party in between their birthdays so I made them a cake for the occasion. I thought it was cute for these sweet ladies!

Cow birhtday cake

This was made for a young girl obsessed with cows. I have to say I think this is one of my favorites so far. I think it turned out super cute! The cake is buttercream, the cow accents are fondant, and the paisley are all hand drawn with buttercream. The cow topper and pieces are all from fondant. I thought they turned out very well for my first time doing fondant sculptures. Allie was so excited for her cow cake!

Train cake

A grandmother had bought the pan for this train cake and asked me to make it. She wanted it old fashioned with the candies just as accent to the detailed train cars. I hand sugared all the gum drops and fruit tape. I was very pleased with the turn out.

After a lot of time consuming work with all the little details, I am finished. This is all butter cream with hand drawn butter cream accents. I hope he enjoys his iPhone cake!

Go Dawgs!

Well, I personally am not a Georgia Bulldogs fan but a friend of mine asked me to make her mom a Georgia cake for her birthday. I wanted to make it a little more femanine and decided to design the cake after some Georgia pottery dishes my mother has. Here is the finished product.
