Baby showers, baby showers

Had another big baby shower weekend. Two baby girls and one baby boy.

For a good friend, whose baby was actually at her own shower! Welcome to the world
baby Madison! This was chocolate cake on the top tier and almond sour cream on the bottom.
Both buttercream with fondant accents.

Cute little petit fours for a new baby boy. Some with baby booties and some
with the little guys monogram.

One more baby girl to welcome to the world. This is all buttercream. Polka dots and stripes, can't get much
cuter than that, pink and greens, baby girls dreams!

Tom and Jerry cake

A dear friend of mine asked me to make her son's 5th birthday cake. He changed his mind several times and finally decided on Tom and Jerry. I made Tom and Jerry out of fondant and the cars are made from rice krispy treats and covered in fondant. I was really pleased at how they turned out and the birthday boy loved them! Happy 5th Birthday Caydn!!!

Baby shower cakes

First off let me say that I took these pictures at about 2:00 in the morning after working on both of them for many hours so excuse the poor picture taking and I also need a new camera. I have to take a picture with the flash to get the true colors and one without so you don't get any glare. ARRRGGGHHH!!!

Anyway, I was asked to make a baby shower cake for a little girl in hot pink and white. They were using daisies at the shower so I did, too. I added the new baby girl's initials to the cake for a little personal touch.

I was also asked to make a shower cake for an expected baby boy on the same weekend. The hostess of this shower were using bears as the theme. I thought the little bears turned out very cute circling the cake. I couldn't find what I was really wanting for the topper so just added a cute blue fondant bow.
This was the first time I did initials out of fondant. They were hand cut and place on a circular piece of fondant. I wanted an embellished looked to both and I was really pleased with the turn out for both!

Valentine's 1st anniversary cake

I was asked to make a cake for a couples first anniversary. The wife wanted to surprise her husband with a special cake when they went out of town for their anniversary. I decided to make it Valentine's since it is this weekend. I told her it would be an edible bouquet of roses for them. It was just a little 6 inch cake but it sure was cute.

Gymnastics cake

A sweet friend of mine asked me to make a cake for her daughters combined birthday party at a local gymnastics center. She was doing a red, white, and blue theme and wanted two fondant girls for her beautiful daughters. These were my first attempt at fondant figures. I think they turned out pretty well but the faces were a little more masculine than I really wanted but they were still cute and I love their little bobs. I had to add the bows on their heads because they always wear those big bows I love on little girls. I thought the big bow on the cake made it much more girly.
